Diane Desmarais was born in Hull in 1946. She graduated from the Montreal School of Fine Arts in 1969. Over the years, her paintings became established thanks to the sensuality of her subjects: filiform, androgynous characters, contorted, combined with her mastery of the material and the strength of her compositions.
